On Friday, judges at Mureș County Court approved prosecutors' request to remand Cristian Pomohaci in custody. The celebrated folk music singer, who in the past embraced religious ministry, is the subject of a case coordinated by DIICOT concerning the illegal distribution of psychoactive substances.
Investigators conducted a search at the artist's residence, where they made significant discoveries. Stacks of cash totalling approximately two million euros according to estimates were found. The money was deposited in eight distinct foreign currencies. Additionally, a quantity of 3-CMC, a dangerous synthetic drug, was confiscated from the residence.
This is not the first restrictive measure applied to the entertainer. In the previous days, the same court had already remanded him in custody in another case, in which he is accused of sexual abuse of a minor. Therefore, Pomohaci now faces simultaneously two extremely serious accusations, both leading to deprivation of liberty.
