A police operation in Suceava targeted dozens of residences in an investigation into unauthorised hunting and illegal possession of firearms. Several suspects were taken into temporary custody.

Suceava county was the scene of a large-scale operation carried out by law enforcement, who raided 38 addresses belonging to individuals suspected of hunting without a permit and of violating legislation concerning firearms and ammunition.
During the raids, police forces seized an arsenal comprising 11 rifles and pistols, hundreds of projectiles – more precisely over 700 – and various hunting trophies obtained in violation of the law. Five of those targeted were remanded in custody, being deprived of liberty for an initial period of 24 hours.
The investigation aims to dismantle a group operating in the sphere of game poaching and which, according to investigators, was conducting illicit activities in the sale of timber and trophies obtained in breach of environmental regulations. Investigations are continuing to establish the full scope of the network's criminal activity.
