On 19 June 2026, law enforcement officers implemented a detention measure for two suspects aged 22 and 26. The decision was made by prosecutors from DIICOT – Constanța Territorial Service, the Specialised Bureau for Combating Drug Trafficking, according to Radio Constanța.

The two are suspected of carrying out activities involving the sale of substances under legal control, both from the category with high risk potential and from that of highly dangerous drugs.

The investigation revealed that, throughout 2026, the younger individual purchased, stored and resold various quantities of prohibited products in the Constanța area. Delivery to buyers was carried out by concealing parcels in pre-arranged locations, without direct contact.

In April, investigators managed to remove approximately 415 grams of cannabis and 25 grams of 3-CMC from illegal circulation, put on the market by the 22-year-old suspect. One day earlier, on 18 June, police caught the other participant in flagrante delicto, at the moment he was holding 202 grams of cannabis purchased from his co-defendant.

The residential searches carried out at the addresses of the 22-year-old man led to the discovery of impressive quantities: approximately 2.7 kilograms of cannabis, 375 grams of resin derived from the same plant, 221 ecstasy pills, 120 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of mushrooms with psychoactive effects and 50 grams of crystalline powder 3-CMC. Other chemical compounds were also found, which are the subject of laboratory analyses. The investigation team also seized equipment used in the criminal activity: grinding devices, high-precision electronic scales, plastic envelopes with closing systems and vacuum bags.

Prosecutors submitted a proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days, bringing the matter before the competent court.

The operation was carried out with the assistance of officers from the Organised Crime Fighting Brigade in the locality and with the support of mobile gendarmerie forces.
