A person died on the night of Whitsunday near Lake Surduc following a violent conflict with a man he knew. The two were in temporary dwellings located next to each other, on the water's edge.
According to Sursa de Vest, the dispute stemmed from long-standing misunderstandings between the two. The argument intensified, and at one point one of those involved used an axe to strike the other.
Medical teams arrived at the scene, but specialists were unable to revive the injured man. His death was confirmed on location.
The alleged perpetrator left the area immediately after the incident. Law enforcement launched a search and identified the fugitive after 00:00. He was taken for questioning and subsequently placed in custody on suspicion of murder.
Prosecutors at the Timiș Tribunal's Office are coordinating the investigation and attempting to clarify what led to the escalation of violence.
