An unemployed man aged 59 has been remanded in custody for 30 days in Prahova county. He is accused of sexually abusing two teenage neighbours, aged 14 and 15.
Police officers from the Rural Police Station Cocorăștii Colț launched an investigation after receiving a report on 12 June about possible criminal acts committed against minors. Following investigations carried out, law enforcement established that there were reasonable suspicions of this individual's involvement in criminal activities.
According to judicial sources, the man allegedly took one of the girls by the hand and forced her to touch him in intimate areas. In the case of the other minor, he allegedly hit her on the buttocks.
On 18 June, investigators carried out a search at the suspect's home. Several material pieces of evidence were seized, and an illegally held F3-class pyrotechnic article was also discovered in the residence.
In the course of the investigation, police obtained evidence that the same person may be involved in another sexual abuse of another minor. Investigations are continuing under the supervision of prosecutors.
