Investigators from the Black Sea port have placed handcuffs on a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old minor. The two are suspected of being part of a network that brought narcotics from the Iberian Peninsula.
According to the preliminary indictment, in June 2026, the adult suspect allegedly ordered marijuana from Spain. The parcel, approximately 5.3 kg of dried plant material, was reportedly dispatched by express mail. The estimated value of the goods on the illicit market amounts to approximately 60,000 euros.
On 24 June, the teenager was caught collecting the package at the request of his accomplice. The operation was coordinated by prosecutors specialising in organised crime and law enforcement officers from BCCO.
Magistrates at the Constanța Court received, on 25 June, a request for provisional detention for one month. The two initially remained behind bars for 24 hours, based on a prosecutors' order.
We recall that any defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence until final judgment.
