New arrest in Bagarmossen murder – woman suspected of aiding and abetting
A woman in her twenties was arrested early on Thursday morning on suspicion of aiding and abetting the murder in Bagarmossen, reports mitti.se. She is the second person to be detained in the investigation into the fatal shooting on Fogdevägen on 23 October.
In the shooting, a 25-year-old Bagarmossen resident was killed. Shortly afterwards, a man in his mid-thirties, registered in Eskilstuna, was arrested on suspicion of carrying out the act.
"We suspect that he is the shooter," says prosecutor Rasmus Öman.
The prosecutor declined to comment on where or how the woman was arrested, and also did not elaborate on why she is suspected.
"She has been detained on probable cause on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder. We will interview her together with her solicitor and then decide whether she should remain in detention," says Öman.
Police are investigating several theories about the motive. One of them is whether it was a case of mistaken identity.
"That is something we continue to look into. I can neither confirm nor deny the matter," says Rasmus Öman.
Investigators have found no links between the suspected shooter and the victim.
"No, we have not found any such links," states the prosecutor.
Police are also investigating whether there is a connection between the murder in Bagarmossen and the shooting of 24-year-old youth worker Saba, who was killed in a sports hall in Älvsjö a week earlier.
"There is a temporal connection that leads us to look into this. Otherwise I have nothing new to report or any details to comment on," says Öman.
The shooting on 23 October was the first in Bagarmossen since summer 2024, when a murder and two attempted murders took place in the same area. The earlier shootings are currently not part of the active investigation, according to the prosecutor.
