Five charged after fatal shooting on bus in Tyresö
An 18-year-old man was shot dead shortly after boarding a bus outside Tyresö gymnasium on the afternoon of 25 March this year. According to Sydsvenskan, five people are now charged with suspected involvement in the murder.
The shooting occurred immediately after school ended and was witnessed by many people. Prosecutor Sara Malmhester states in a press release that the investigation suggests the victim was not the intended target.
"What has emerged in the investigation indicates that it was another person whom the shooter was ordered to shoot," says Sara Malmhester.
A man in his 20s is charged with suspected murder, among other things. Four others are charged with suspected accomplice to murder.
The investigation has also linked the incident to several other shootings in the region during the same period.
"It has further emerged that the murder has several connections to other shootings that have occurred in the Stockholm area and Malmö during March," says Malmhester.
The prosecutor further states that the crimes are suspected to have been carried out on the orders of the same person. That person is remanded in custody in absentia, suspected of instigating the murder, but has not been apprehended and is not included in the current charges.
