An unusual incident occurred overnight in the settlement of Bertoki on the Primorska region. Local residents were startled at around three in the morning by a loud bang that echoed across the area.
At the scene, police officers discovered that someone had destroyed a bank machine with an explosive device. Damage was also found to the building where the machine was installed. The suspects fled after the incident, and their identity remains unknown at present.
The Koper Police Directorate immediately secured the scene of the incident. They set up numerous checkpoints to prevent a possible escape by the perpetrators. In the morning, explosives specialists arrived to assist and examine the premises.
Criminal investigators are now intensively gathering evidence and testimony. The investigation is proceeding in the direction of identifying the perpetrators and determining whether this involves an organised group engaged in similar activities.
