The state audit office reportedly uncovered serious irregularities in public procurement related to the new administrative building of the state motorway company on Ljubljana's Grič. A criminal complaint is said to have been filed on Tuesday against the company's management, including its first man Andrej Ribič, at the district court.
According to 24ur.com, the largest state enterprise is reportedly said to have paid nearly twice as much for advisory and engineering services in the new construction as had been planned. The contracts are said to have been concluded without a public tender procedure, directly with a consortium of two commercial companies.
In the course of the investigation, auditors reportedly found that the entire investment was overpriced by more than half – instead of 19 million euros, the final amount is said to have reached nearly 30 million. The conclusion of this part of the procedure was expected by the end of summer. Representatives of the motorway company did not wish to comment on the accusations today.
