Escaped prisoner from Dob pri Mirni arrested in Novo mesto
The 41-year-old convicted prisoner Srečko Brajdič escaped from outside a hospital in Novo mesto on Tuesday morning. Police arrested him following information from members of the public.

Police arrested 41-year-old convicted prisoner Srečko Brajdič on the basis of information from members of the public after he escaped from outside Splošna bolnišnica Novo mesto on Tuesday at around 9 a.m., according to Google News SI — Crime (sl).
Brajdič comes from Dob pri Mirni prison. According to the Administration for the Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions, he escaped from custody following the end of his hospitalisation. During the incident, a judicial police officer was slightly injured and was treated at the same hospital.
"The police were informed of the incident immediately and carried out the necessary activities to trace and arrest the prisoner," the administration stated. Novo mesto Police Directorate confirmed that Brajdič would be handed over to judicial police officers for further processing.
The Administration for the Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions clarified to STA that they cannot provide more detailed information about the prisoner — including the reasons for hospitalisation and the circumstances of his sentence — due to protection of personal data.
Police thanked all members of the public who helped to locate him by providing information, and also the media.
