A pre-trial procedure is underway at the Kranj Police Directorate on suspicion of committing a criminal offence that is prosecuted ex officio. The competent authorities are searching for an unidentified man, allegedly connected to an assault in the Žirovnica area.
According to a report by N1 Slovenija, the robbery in question occurred more than two years ago. The target was reportedly an 82-year-old man, who subsequently died. At that time, Kranj police stated that, based on initial findings, death was not caused by violent conduct.
A digitally created portrait of the wanted person has been released to the public. This is a man approximately 170 centimetres tall, in the age group of 25 to 40 years. Identifying features include blue eyes and a mark on the right side of the face. In the image, his face is covered with a mask and headwear.
The same individual is believed to have been involved in another theft with elements of violence, carried out in autumn 2023. In that case, he was described as approximately 25 years old, between 175 and 180 centimetres tall. He was then wearing a dark jacket, dark jogging bottoms with a red Nike logo on the left pocket, a camouflage military cap with a brim, and a military backpack. He was accompanied by another man, aged between 30 and 40 years, dressed in grey clothing, with a hood and surgical mask on his face.
Police appeal to anyone who may recognise the person in the image or has any information about him to come forward at the nearest police station, call 113, or contact the anonymous telephone number 080 1200.
