Between January and May this year, numerous break-ins into parked vehicles occurred in the Šentjur area and surroundings. The perpetrator approached cars parked in front of houses at night and took wallets, money, laptops and other valuable equipment from unlocked vehicles.

Police officers determined that the suspect travelled by train and then moved around the area using an electric scooter. Citizens provided them with CCTV footage that was crucial in identifying the perpetrator. The suspect was a 41-year-old resident of Gorenjska.

The investigation showed that the man also operated outside the Šentjur area. Last week, criminalists from Šentjur, with assistance from colleagues from Krško, Brežice and Radovljica, conducted a search at his home. During the seizures, they found numerous items originating from thefts throughout the country.

The man is accused of thirteen criminal counts of burglary. The court ordered his detention during further investigation, which involves dozens of additional cases.

Official data show that the suspect was on conditional release at the time of committing the criminal acts. Most of the stolen items have already been returned to their owners, however the owners of four wallets and thirteen different watches are still being sought. Potential owners are asked to contact the number 03/746 41 50.
