Late yesterday afternoon or evening, a violent incident took place in a car park on Ljubljanska ulica in the city. Four perpetrators, not yet identified by police, physically attacked a 35-year-old man. They then took his personal phone and tobacco products. After the incident, they fled the scene. The victim suffered a loss estimated at around two thousand euros.

During the same time period, Maribor police officers dealt with two further suspicious transactions. In a catering establishment, a person paid with a one-hundred-euro banknote, which is suspected of being counterfeit. A similar incident occurred at a petrol station, where a twenty-euro banknote that is alleged to be counterfeit was used.

The police authority therefore once again warns all those who receive cash in their work to be alert and careful.

The operational communications centre in Maribor received more than two hundred calls in one day, of which one hundred and one were urgent. In addition to the cases mentioned, the events dealt with included traffic accidents, thefts, bodily injuries and other offences.
