Electronic messages claiming that explosive devices had been placed in the buildings were sent in a single day to numerous public institutions across the country. Due to these notifications, both employees and visitors had to leave the buildings.
Police units in Ljubljana, Celje, Maribor, Murska Sobota and Novo Mesto were notified of the threats. A team in the capital checked the courthouse on Tavčarjeva Street in the morning, where they found no dangerous objects. Nevertheless, this extraordinary event affected the regular operation of the court – some hearings were cancelled or postponed.
In Murska Sobota, the regional court had to be evacuated, as did the municipal court in Gornja Radgona. Police officers responded immediately to the scene and began gathering evidence.
Police later reported that all buildings had been thoroughly inspected. None of the institutions contained explosives or other objects that could endanger people. Initial analysis suggests that the messages were likely generated using automated tools.
Nonetheless, law enforcement authorities are treating the incident as a suspected criminal offence of causing general danger. They continue actively gathering information and verifying all details related to the origin of the messages. Their goal is to discover who is behind these threats.
According to currently available information, there is no direct danger to residents. Police warn that such actions are punishable under the criminal code and are strictly prosecuted.
