According to pomurec.com, criminal investigators in Murska Sobota are investigating a serious theft that occurred on 5 June 2026 at one of the town's jewellery shops. According to information from the Murska Sobota Police Directorate, the criminal offence was committed by an unidentified man and woman.
In the morning, a large number of police officers and criminal forensic specialists were visible on Kocljeva Street, conducting an inspection of the crime scene. Initially, unofficial reports of a robbery circulated, but the police clarified that they are investigating the criminal offence of serious theft under Article 205 of the Criminal Code.
The perpetrators entered the jewellery shop in the morning and boldly deceived the shop assistant without the use of force. They took away an as yet undetermined quantity of jewellery. The amount of material damage is unknown.
According to unofficial reports, the offence allegedly took place at Zlatarstvo Mandić, which the competent authorities have not officially confirmed. Due to the interests of the investigation, the police are currently not revealing further details.
