After concluding their investigation into the tragic incident from mid-May, officers filed a criminal complaint against the bus driver at Ljubljana court. The 48-year-old man struck a minor pedestrian with his bus as she crossed the road at a marked crossing at the intersection of Poljanska cesta and Kopitarjeva. The girl died at the scene due to serious injuries.
Ljubljana Police Directorate confirmed to STA that the complaint was filed on suspicion of the criminal offence of causing a traffic accident through negligence. Further details about the person under investigation were not disclosed due to protection of personal data.
The incident occurred on 15 May. According to police information at the time, the driver was operating a vehicle for Ljubljana Public Transport (LPP). An alcohol test administered to him was negative.
