Investigators from the Office to Combat Organised Crime detained another suspect from a criminal gang trafficking in narcotics across borders during a vehicle journey.

On Monday 22 June, officials from the Office to Combat Organised Crime proceeded with another operation within the scope of a large-scale anti-drug operation codenamed Urus. This time, an accused person was placed in custody during a vehicle journey.
This was achieved in the afternoon hours when police stopped the suspect during his journey by vehicle. This action is part of ongoing intensive procedural measures directed against members of an international criminal gang.
The entire anti-drug operation is aimed at extensive commercial activity in narcotics exceeding the borders of the state. So far, ten people have been detained, nine of whom face charges. Investigators continue to work on fully documenting the gang's activities, clarifying all circumstances of the case, and identifying other persons involved.
"Given the ongoing investigation and current procedural tasks being carried out, it is not possible to provide further information at this stage," stated the communication and prevention department of the Police Force Presidium.
