On Saturday afternoon, police responded to a violent incident in Gelnica. In one of the residential buildings, they found a woman showing no signs of life. The information was reported by the Topky portal.
The regional police force in Košice confirmed that it was carrying out the necessary procedural steps at the scene of the body's discovery. At the same time, it launched a search for a motor vehicle and a person who could help clarify the circumstances of the incident. The public was warned that if they spotted a grey Škoda Octavia with registration number GL 055AX, they should not approach it.
On the same day, the search ended successfully. A patrol from the District Police Department in Čaň apprehended the wanted man on one of the field roads in the vicinity of Košice. "The person was deprived of personal liberty and further procedural steps are currently being carried out," said law enforcement representatives. They also expressed gratitude to all citizens who provided information leading to the apprehension of the suspect.
According to information from JOJ television, the suspect is the victim's husband, who had previously served time for the crime of dangerous threatening. He had only recently been released from prison. According to the same source, the deceased woman worked as a teacher at a primary school.
