Woman's murder in Gelnica: police charge her husband
A woman died in a violent criminal offence in Gelnica on Saturday (20 June). Investigators from the regional police department in the area have charged her husband with murder.
A spokeswoman for Košice police confirmed that if the perpetrator is found guilty, he faces a sentence of deprivation of liberty for 15 to 20 years. The man was apprehended in the Prešov region, where according to police assumptions he had relocated. Officers from this part of eastern Slovakia therefore also joined the search.
Police have not yet released details about the circumstances of the crime or the motive. The investigation into the case is continuing.
