A woman in her 30s was seriously injured after falling from a first-floor balcony in Belmayne, Dublin 13. A man in his 20s has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault in Belmayne, Dublin 13, after a woman was found seriously injured on the ground outside a residential property on Main Street, dublinlive.ie reports.

The incident occurred on Monday 28th September 2026, shortly after 3:40pm. The woman, aged in her 30s, had been among a number of people inside a first-floor apartment when an alleged row broke out. She was subsequently found on the ground below and was conveyed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident beside a residential property on Main Street, Belmayne, Dublin 13. A technical examination of the scene has been conducted."

Gardaí appointed a Family Liaison Officer to the woman's family and issued a public appeal for witnesses on Monday. The woman remains in a serious condition in hospital.

On Tuesday 29th September 2026, Gardaí confirmed the arrest. "A male (aged in his 20's) has been arrested today, Tuesday 29th September 2026, in connection with the investigation," a spokesperson said. "He is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin area."

Gardaí said they continue to investigate the incident as an alleged case of serious assault. Investigations are ongoing.
