Two people were shot and killed and at least 35 others were injured at a neighborhood block party in Vienna, Georgia, early Sunday morning, ABC News US reports, citing state law enforcement officials.
Deputies from the Dooly County Sheriff's Office were on patrol at the party when gunfire broke out at around 1:25 a.m., the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement. Officers arriving at the scene found two victims dead and multiple additional people who had been shot.
Officials did not specify how many of the 35 injured sustained gunshot wounds, nor did they provide details on the severity of injuries. Victims were transported to multiple hospitals for treatment, the GBI said.
Autopsies are being conducted on the two people who were killed, the bureau added. No suspect information was released.
