$5,000 reward offered seven years after Philadelphia man shot dead on I-95

Pennsylvania State Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the unsolved 2019 murder of Naython Brown, a 33-year-old Philadelphia resident found shot in the head along Interstate 95 in Chester Township, Delaware County, nbcphiladelphia.com reports.

On the seventh anniversary of the killing, state police officials on Monday released fresh details about the case and the reward in an appeal to the public.

Brown was found dead at approximately 9:28 p.m. on 19 October 2019, on a grassy median separating I-95 southbound from an exit ramp leading to the Commodore Barry Bridge, near Exit 4. Troopers had responded to a report of a deceased individual at that location.

An investigation at the scene established that Brown had experienced car trouble that evening while travelling from Philadelphia to Chester. He had pulled his white Chevrolet Monte Carlo to the side of the road after a flat tyre disabled the vehicle. Police believe he was shot in the head while waiting at the roadside for assistance.

The $5,000 reward is available to anyone providing information that leads to an arrest, the solving of the cold case, or the location of a wanted person connected to the crime. State police officials noted the reward funds are not drawn from taxpayer money.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police criminal investigation unit at 215-452-5216 or the state tip line at 1-800-472-8477. Tips may also be submitted through an online form on the state police website. All callers to the tip line may be eligible for the cash reward.
