Suspects at large after failed break-in at Berkley vape shop

The Berkley Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying two young suspects involved in an attempted breaking and entering at a smoke shop on Woodward Avenue, clickondetroit.com reports.

Surveillance footage released by police shows one of the suspects using a gallon-size paint can to try to smash the glass door of the Vape Shop, located near Princeton Road, at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Officers responded to the scene, but the suspects had already fled before their arrival.

The first suspect is described as a male aged approximately 14 to 18 years old, wearing a navy blue sweatshirt, dark trousers with white writing or a logo on the left leg, and white shoes. Police noted that the suspect's clothing may have been stained with brown paint, as the paint can burst open during the failed attempt to break through the door.

The second suspect, who does not appear in the surveillance footage, is described as being around 12 to 14 years old and wearing all dark clothing.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the identities of either suspect is asked to contact Berkley police detectives at 248-658-3390.
