Five Suspects Nabbed in LA County Burglary Spree

The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested five people in connection with a string of residential burglaries spanning multiple neighbourhoods across Los Angeles County, nbclosangeles.com reports.

The LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division launched its investigation after a series of break-ins in Tarzana and Woodland Hills in February 2026. During those incidents, suspects allegedly forced entry by smashing rear sliding glass doors before ransacking homes and stealing jewellery, designer purses, eyeglasses and clothing.

Detectives first identified and arrested Manuel Nava, 21, of Hawthorne, and Michael Lewis, 22, of Inglewood. Further investigation linked Nava alongside Brett Bailey, 18, Elijah Smith, 18, and Tonice Davis, 32 — all of Los Angeles — to additional residential burglaries in Downey.

When detectives executed search and arrest warrants, they recovered handheld radios, masks, gloves, Wi-Fi jammers, two vehicles, weapons and ammunition believed to be connected to the crimes.

Nava and Lewis face burglary charges, with bail set at $165,000 and $150,000 respectively. Bailey, Smith and Davis were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary; bail was fixed at $50,000 for Bailey and $90,000 each for Smith and Davis.

Investigators believe the five may be responsible for additional burglaries that have not yet been reported, and have released booking photographs to help identify further victims.

Anyone who believes they were targeted or has information is asked to contact Robbery-Homicide Division Detectives Mrakich or Ortega at 213-486-6840 or by email at [email protected]. Anonymous tips can be submitted to LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
