Teen charged with murder after dismembered body found at Smyrna apartment complex

18-year-old held without bond after dismembered body discovered in plastic tub, Smyrna

An 18-year-old man has been charged with malice murder and concealing the death of another following the discovery of a dismembered body at a Smyrna apartment complex, fox5atlanta.com reports.

Kingston Bradley was arrested after a human torso was found inside a plastic tub at Park Valley Apartments on Monday at approximately 8:15 p.m. A witness told investigators they saw Bradley carrying the container through an open area of the complex before he dropped it and fled into a nearby apartment.

Police identified the victim as Shanteria Mosley. Officers have not established the connection between Mosley and Bradley. DoorDash confirmed Mosley worked for the company; Tuesday was the last day her account showed activity.

A search of Bradley's apartment uncovered multiple bloodstains, a blood-covered saw, and the smell of bleach, along with a mop and a bucket of water. On Friday, detectives also recovered body parts believed to belong to Mosley from the trunk of a car in Cobb County. Police did not specify which parts were found. Investigators say they continue to search for additional remains, executing several search warrants and conducting interviews.

"This is a shocking crime," said Lt. Meredith Holt, public information officer for the Smyrna Police Department. "This is a particularly gruesome crime. I can't imagine what the family is going through. I know that they are looking for answers and grieving at the same time. We're continuing to work this case."

Court records indicate Bradley has a prior history of violence. In February, he was charged with family violence battery following an alleged altercation with his father, with Smyrna police noting an "extensive history" of disputes between the two. Records from December 2024 show Bradley also faced two counts of terroristic threats and acts, simple battery, battery, and criminal trespass after allegedly striking his father and a 15-year-old with an Xbox controller, breaking a door and pushing the child into a window, shattering it. That case remains ongoing.

Bradley is currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
