Three people have been charged and a sheriff's deputy hospitalised following a drug investigation in Forest County, Wisconsin, wsaw.com reports.
The operation began around 10 p.m. on 19 October when a Forest County sheriff's deputy pulled over a vehicle in the Town of Lincoln for an equipment violation. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up nearly 4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms along with marijuana-related items.
Investigators then executed a search warrant at a Lincoln residence, seizing approximately 380 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 160 THC vape cartridges containing roughly 320 grams of THC, 70 grams of marijuana plant material, and items consistent with illegal drug distribution.
While attempting to make contact with a person at a second Lincoln address, a deputy sustained injuries during a physical altercation with an occupant. An ambulance transported the deputy to Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital for treatment. Authorities subsequently obtained an arrest warrant and took the suspect into custody.
Kaylynn Tallier, Gage Milham-Queen and Curtis Mallory are all being held in the Forest County Jail, investigators said.
