Vienna: Officers apprehended two burglars in a single night across different city districts. Both perpetrators were caught in the act.

Vienna police prevented two residential burglaries in different parts of the city during the night into Thursday and arrested the suspects.
Around 11 p.m., a tenant of a multi-family house on Schwendergasse in the 15th district reported suspicious noises coming from the basement. The responding officers found a 32-year-old man from Croatia on site who had apparently smashed a pane of glass to gain access to the storage room. Officers discovered allegedly stolen work equipment on him, including a drill. The owner had his items returned. Criminal charges were filed against the Croatian man, but he was released on bail.
Shortly before midnight, officers on their rounds in Favoriten noticed a smashed glass door of a CBD shop. A man was crawling out of the interior of the business, turned around and fled when he spotted the uniformed officers. Police pursued the fugitive and were soon able to stop him and take him into temporary custody. The 37-year-old suspect from Libya was found in possession of allegedly stolen cash from the shop till and a laptop computer. The seized items serve as evidence. The North African man remains in police custody. The state criminal police office is conducting further investigations.
