A 48-year-old man has been arrested in Panagyurishte after attempting to bribe a police officer with a €20 banknote during a check on an illegally parked minibus.

In the Sredna Gora town of Panagyurishte, uniformed officers stopped a Mercedes minibus parked illegally for inspection. A fine was issued to the vehicle's owner for the violation.
When he saw what was happening, the 48-year-old woman's husband decided to influence one of the law enforcement officers. He thrust a €20 banknote into his hand. His action, however, resulted in his immediate detention in custody for one day. A search was conducted at the scene, and the sum was confiscated.
Fast-track proceedings have already been initiated against the detainee, overseen by the prosecutor's office.
