Armed confrontation in Concepción leaves one Brazilian wounded and three fled
The vice-minister of Comprehensive Fight Against Drug Trafficking, Dorian Badani, confirmed that four Brazilian citizens opened fire against officers of the Special Force for Fighting Drug Trafficking (FELCN) in the municipality of Concepción, according to reporting by El Deber.
The four occupants of a pickup truck refused to stop following a police order and began firing at the agents, who returned fire.
One of the Brazilians was seriously wounded. He was initially treated at Concepción hospital and later transferred to Santa Cruz due to the severity of his injuries. The other three managed to escape and are being sought by police. Additionally, a woman identified as the girlfriend of the wounded man was arrested and placed at the disposal of the authorities.
Badani dismissed the initial version claiming that two people on motorcycles had attacked the pickup truck. According to his explanation, those motorcycles belonged to residents who arrived at the scene after the confrontation, not to the attackers.
The authorities linked the group to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and announced that on Monday they would provide more details about the operation and the alleged criminal organisation involved.
