Four strikes against drug trafficking: FELCN seizes nearly 300 kilos of drugs and five arrested
The Special Force to Combat Drug Trafficking (FELCN) carried out four operations at different points across the country resulting in the seizure of 197 kilos with 650 grams of marijuana and 91 kilos with 205 grams of cocaine—including hydrochloride and cocaine base—as well as 311 kilos with 150 grams of potassium permanganate, according to reporting by El Deber.
The general director of the FELCN, Marcelo Núñez, specified that the four operations resulted in five people arrested, three vehicles impounded and an estimated economic impact of 379,527 dollars to drug trafficking.
The first operation was carried out in Montero, where agents found 197 kilos with 650 grams of marijuana. One man was arrested and a truck was retained.
In Puerto Pailas, the FELCN intervened a tractor-trailer and detained two people. The seizure amounted to 74 kilos with 945 grams of cocaine: 28 kilos with 215 grams of hydrochloride and 46 kilos with 730 grams of cocaine base.
The third case occurred during a package inspection at the Bimodal Terminal, where 16 kilos with 260 grams of cocaine hydrochloride were found. On that occasion no arrests were recorded.
The fourth operation, also in Montero, resulted in the seizure of 311 kilos with 150 grams of potassium permanganate—a substance used in cocaine processing—and the arrest of two Bolivian citizens. The tractor-trailer used to transport the cargo was also impounded.
