Shooting in public street leaves one dead in Santa Cruz
A man was shot dead in a public thoroughfare in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, according to El Deber. The attack occurred in the vicinity of the second ring and Avenida Mutualista, in a high-traffic area of the capital.
The victim was inside a vehicle when he was intercepted by a hired gunman who pursued him. The man attempted to escape but was struck down by several shots; the automobile was left with multiple bullet holes. A second person was injured and evacuated from the scene.
The perpetrators of the attack—the gunman and an accomplice—fled on a motorcycle after committing the act. Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office began initial proceedings at the crime scene and are working to identify and apprehend those responsible.
