Ten packages of cannabis found on the stairs of a bus in Cochabamba

An operation by the Special Force to Combat Drug Trafficking (FELCN) at Cochabamba's bus terminal resulted in the seizure of ten packages of cannabis and the detention of two people, according to El Deber.

The discovery was made possible thanks to "Lía", a drug detection dog that alerted her handlers to the presence of controlled substances in the internal stairs of the vehicle—the access to the second floor of the bus. Upon checking the indicated area, officers found the packages hidden in that space.

The total weight of the shipment exceeded five kilos. A field test confirmed that the substance was cannabis.

The bus was retained at police facilities. The two detained persons were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry whilst awaiting the bail hearing; both will be prosecuted for trafficking in controlled substances.

The case is being investigated in Cochabamba.
