According to chile.as.com, the first images of Francisco Huaiquipán were released on Thursday morning following his detention, showing the former Colo Colo player in the custody of the Investigative Police (PDI) as he was being transferred to the Santiago Justice Centre.
The arrest took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Los Vilos municipality, Coquimbo region. Huaiquipán is under investigation for suspected crimes of rape and repeated sexual abuse allegedly involving three minor victims.
Detectives from the PDI's Sexual Crimes Investigation Brigade carried out the arrest in compliance with an order issued by the 12th Guarantee Court of Santiago.
Around 12 o'clock on Thursday, Huaiquipán was due to face his detention control and formalisation hearing. At that stage, the Southern Metropolitan Public Prosecutor's Office would announce the charges brought against him and new details from the investigation.
