Apprehension in flagrante at TransMilenio station for mobile phone theft
Bogotá police apprehended two people in flagrante delicto accused of stealing a mobile telephone using the tickle-pickpocketing method at Avenida Primero de Mayo station of the TransMilenio system, reported bogota.gov.co.
The operation was carried out by uniformed officers of the Mass Transport Group TransMilenio, who were conducting patrol duties when station security personnel alerted them to the alleged theft. The agents managed to intercept the two suspects—a man and a woman—and recover the mobile device, which the victim recognised as their property.
During the procedure, uniformed officers found a knife in the man's possession.
Both arrested individuals have criminal records for theft. The man had regained his freedom approximately one month before being detained again, whilst the woman had been arrested just one week earlier for a similar incident on the NQS trunk route.
The two suspects were handed over to the competent authorities to answer for the alleged crime of theft.
