Woman shot dead outside her home in Barranquilla; second female victim in November
Claudia María Ortiz Gómez, aged 48, was shot three times in the head by hitmen on a motorcycle in the Santo Domingo neighbourhood. She is the second woman murdered in November and the sixth since October.

Claudia María Ortiz Gómez, aged 48, was murdered at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday outside her residence on calle 88 with carrera 4B, Santo Domingo neighbourhood, in the south-west of Barranquilla, according to reports from zonacero.com.
According to information gathered by authorities, the woman was standing at the entrance of her home when two hitmen arrived on a motorcycle and shot her three times in the head. The attackers fled at high speed after the incident.
Family members and neighbours assisted the victim and took her to Clínica San Ignacio, where doctors confirmed her death. The bullets proved fatal.
The Barranquilla Metropolitan Police are conducting investigations to establish the motives for the crime. Ortiz Gómez was a housewife and leaves four children.
This case is the second murder of a woman registered so far in November and the sixth counted since October.
The first case of the month occurred on Tuesday, 3 November, shortly before 6:00 a.m., when hitmen also on a motorcycle killed Dubis Vanegas Rodríguez, aged 36, and her partner Luis Alberto García Rodríguez, aged 41. Both were just leaving their home on diagonal 53B with transversal 1C, La Candelaria II neighbourhood, in the municipality of Soledad.
