Content creator Wendy Jeanette Durán Bocanegra was arrested in flagrante delicto at her residence in the Pance sector of Cali after the National Police found an arsenal of weapons, ammunition and narcotics hidden in a wardrobe, according to elcolombiano.com.
The operation began following a complaint from the property owner about alleged non-payment of rent. When officers attended the residence, they discovered the weapons cache hidden away.
Among the items seized was a Colt rifle, calibre 5.56, of United States manufacture—a model that does not form part of the inventory of Colombia's armed forces—along with 977 rounds of the same calibre, used in long-range weapons. Also confiscated were two Glock pistols, calibre 9 mm, with their respective magazines, an additional magazine containing 35 rounds, two holographic sights and a light and laser adapter.
Durán Bocanegra acknowledged to officers that she did not have any authorisation to carry or store that material, which led to her arrest in flagrante delicto.
In addition to the weaponry, the authorities found 4,844 dollars in cash, a bill-counting machine, two digital scales, a mobile telephone, two laptops and narcotics substances.
The young woman was placed at the disposal of the General Prosecutor's Office. A prosecutor from the Specialised Directorate against Money Laundering charged her with the crime of manufacture, trafficking and possession of firearms and ammunition. The accused rejected the charges and a criminal judge of guarantees imposed a custodial remand measure while the due process continues.
