Justice authorities in Curaçao want two suspects imprisoned for a lengthy period for the killing of Tilburg-based artist Ruchendell 'Boechi' Windster.

Two men standing trial for the killing of rapper Ruchendell 'Boechi' Windster have had substantial prison sentences sought against them on Friday in Curaçao. The Public Prosecution Service wants the 24-year-old shooter to serve 22 years in prison, whilst the 44-year-old driver of the vehicle should receive 19 years.
The Tilburg-based artist, who made music in Papiamentu, was shot dead on 9 December last year at a food stall on the Rooseveltweg in Willemstad. This occurred after he performed there. The two suspects allegedly followed their victim for an hour in a car.
During the hearing, it emerged that the men gave contradictory statements. The younger of the two denies any involvement and claims he was ill at home. The other, however, contends that his co-defendant called after the shots were fired to report that everything was over.
The sentence sought for the 24-year-old is higher because he has previously been convicted of attempted murder. The victim's wife, Niandy Windster-Losiabaar, addressed the court about the loss of her husband and father of her four children. She asked the judges to order the suspects to pay over 50,000 euros. The motive behind the murder remained unclear.
