On Monday afternoon, a dangerous incident occurred in Krásné Březno, a district of the city of Ústí nad Labem. A water tanker driver transporting drinking water stopped in a car park on Peškova Street. Suddenly, vulgar shouts came from a window on the fourth floor of a nearby tower block. The man inside the flat ordered the driver to leave with his vehicle.

The driver refused to comply with this order. A moment later, the same individual appeared at the window again. This time he was holding something that looked like a firearm in his hand and fired in the direction of the parked tanker. He then quickly closed the window, according to police spokeswoman Veronika Hyšplerová.

Patrols arrived at the scene within minutes. They headed to the specific flat on the fourth floor. The door was opened by the suspect's wife, who claimed she had been sleeping the whole time and knew nothing about it. She allowed police officers to enter.

In one of the rooms, the uniformed officers found a collection of weapons lying scattered about and the perpetrator, who was heavily intoxicated. A forensic technician who was called to the scene conducted an examination of the crime scene.

In total, they secured ten items, for which the owner does not need a weapons permit to possess legally. These were mostly airsoft and ball-bearing firearms plus one pneumatic pistol, Hyšplerová added.

The suspect, a man aged fifty, ended up in a cell. The case is being investigated as disorderly conduct. A breath test showed he had 2.07 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
