Armed unit in Brno brought man down from gutter, he was carrying a knife
Shortly after 9 pm, police responded on Jánská Street in Brno, where a fifty-nine-year-old man had climbed onto the gutter of a house to a height of several metres and was unable to get down. An armed unit and firefighters with a platform were called to the scene. The man was brought under control and apprehended within several minutes; the street was closed for security reasons, according to policie.gov.cz.
The presence of the armed unit was not coincidental. The house, whose gutter the man had climbed, is the home of a person with whom he had had repeated disputes. Additionally, police initially did not know whether he was armed.
It turned out that both concerns were justified: the man was under the influence of drugs and was indeed carrying a knife. A test for narcotic substances conducted at the scene proved positive.
Police are now investigating the case on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of violation of home privacy.
