On Sunday morning, a car chase unfolded in Brno. A police patrol wanted to check a vehicle on Merhautova Street, but the thirty-three-year-old man behind the wheel ignored the signal to stop and pressed the accelerator.
He continued driving through Husovice. On Elgartova Street, he collided with one car, then at the intersection of Merhautova and Jugoslavska streets he crashed into two more cars. Only then did uniformed officers manage to stop him and restrain him.
"The suspect tested positive for drugs and was taken into custody," said Andrea Cejnková, spokesperson for the South Moravian Police. In addition to material damage, he also caused an injury – one of the accident participants suffered a minor hand injury. The police are investigating the matter.
