A masked man burst into the post office branch in Kratonohé and attempted to extort money. The employee was not intimidated and the unknown suspect left empty-handed. Police are now conducting an intensive search for him.
Attempted post office robbery in Kratonohé: suspect still at large
An attempted robbery occurred on Thursday afternoon in one of the municipalities in the Králové Hradec Region. A masked suspect entered the local post office branch and demanded that a clerk hand over money. The woman resisted and the man ultimately left without stolen goods.
The incident took place on 9 June shortly after noon in Kratonohé. The robbery took place without violence and no one suffered injuries. According to a witness, the suspect had an average build and wore dark clothing. He covered his face so that only his eyes were visible. He spoke fluent Czech with staff.
A police patrol and criminal investigators immediately arrived at the scene. They conducted all necessary investigations and are now attempting to determine who the man is and where he went after the crime. Investigators have also initiated criminal proceedings on suspicion of robbery.
Should the suspect be apprehended and a court find him guilty, he faces up to ten years in prison for this offence.
