Two police officers were injured in Halle (Saale) on Saturday evening during the arrest of an intoxicated man. The incident began shortly before 8 p.m. in Neustädter Passage, where the 41-year-old from Kosovo insulted and abused female guests at a public house.
After the patrol arrived and questioned the man for a statement, he initially received an order to leave the premises. He complied at first. Shortly afterwards, however, he returned and verbally attacked the officers aggressively. When defending against the attack, the police officer and policewoman were injured and had to receive outpatient treatment. The male officer was subsequently unfit for duty.
The attacker was placed in handcuffs and spent the rest of the night in police custody.
