A dispute in a pub in Hamburg-Eidelstedt ended fatally for a pensioner. The 79-year-old became involved in an altercation with another customer on Friday evening on Nebenbahnstraße. The reason for the dispute remains unknown. Shortly before 21:00, the conflict escalated on the street outside the pub. During the brawl, the elderly man fell and sustained fatal injuries. Emergency responders attempted to revive him, but he succumbed to his injuries later in hospital.

The suspected perpetrator managed to escape unidentified. He fled on foot over Holsteiner Chaussee in the direction of Wiebischenkamp. Several patrol cars swept the area but failed to locate him. Hamburg's homicide squad is now leading the investigation.

The search is focused on a man of approximately 30 years old with a slim build. He is reported to have a southern appearance, short black hair and a full beard. He was wearing knee-length black trousers, a dark T-shirt and black shoes.

Investigators are appealing to any potential witnesses who saw the incident or noticed the wanted man to contact the police.
