On the night at Spielbudenplatz in Hamburg, a passer-by observed what appeared to be an intoxicated young man getting into a Porsche at around 3 o'clock in the morning. The witness immediately alerted the emergency services.

When the officers arrived in the car park below and tried to speak to the driver, he responded by fleeing. He accelerated sharply, rammed the barrier of the underground car park and initially escaped.

Shortly afterwards, two collisions occurred on Willy-Brandt-Straße. First, the sports car crashed into a BMW, and then collided with a taxi. The 25-year-old then attempted to flee on foot. However, the 32-year-old BMW driver chased after him, apprehended him and handed him over to the authorities.

Upon inspection, it emerged that the fugitive did not possess a valid driving licence and was significantly intoxicated. The property damage incurred amounts to more than 100,000 euros. The taxi driver sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital.
