Berlin man (68) accused of sedating and raping 14 women
A 68-year-old pensioner must answer to Berlin's courts. He faces dozens of sexual offences alleged to have been committed over an extended period.
The state prosecutor of the capital alleges that the accused committed a total of 22 rapes against 14 different women. The contact with the women allegedly took place through mobile dating platforms.
In order to incapacitate the women, the accused is said to have slipped sedatives to them and additionally administered alcohol. In this state, he sexually abused the women and secretly documented the acts on video.
None of the alleged victims have any memories of the incidents. The crimes came to light only when investigators stormed the man's apartment in March 2025. During the search, they found digital storage media containing numerous recordings of the assaults.
The decisive lead on the alleged serial offender came from Lower Saxony. There, proceedings were underway against another man with a similar crime pattern. In evaluating his communications, officers came across the Berlin man.
Following another raid in March 2026, police arrested the suspect. He has been in custody since then.
Investigators have so far identified 58 women in connection with the case. However, 36 alleged offences must be dropped for formal reasons. These incidents date between 2010 and 2014 and are already subject to the statute of limitations.
Whether additional victims exist is currently being investigated.
