A German doctor has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Berlin for the murder of 15 patients using sedative medications.

A court in Berlin on Wednesday sentenced a doctor who worked in palliative medicine to life imprisonment for the murder of 15 people.
The physician killed the victims with sedative medications. All the affected patients suffered from incurable or life-threatening illnesses and were receiving palliative care under his supervision.
Among the victims were 12 women and 3 men. Their ages ranged from 25 to 94 years.
The man was arrested in 2024. Investigations against him are also ongoing in connection with dozens of additional deaths.
