According to investigators, the pensioner initially made contact with the women and subsequently drugged them. In this state, he allegedly abused them and recorded the acts with a camera. The charge includes, alongside the rape accusations, the offence of serious assault.
The Berlin judiciary describes the case as a particularly serious form of sexual violence. Investigators assumed there could be a large number of additional potential victims whom the man allegedly selected via internet platforms.
The case is reminiscent of the trial of Dominique Pelicot in France, in which a husband drugged his wife over many years and invited numerous men to commit sexual assault. There too, drugs and film recordings played a central role.
