32-year-old remanded in custody over arson series near Allendorf
A 32-year-old has been remanded in custody after being stopped near Allendorf whilst riding a dark-coloured e-scooter. Police suspect him of setting multiple fires in the region.

Arrest following arson spree in the Allendorf region
Following a series of arsons around Allendorf, police have arrested a 32-year-old man, according to hessenschau.de. The man is now remanded in custody.
Officers became aware of the suspect on Sunday near the scene of the crime. They stopped him whilst he was riding a dark-coloured e-scooter – and detected the smell of fire on him.
On Monday, an investigating magistrate at Marburg District Court issued a remand warrant on grounds of risk of repetition. The focus is initially on two storage huts that caught fire in Allendorf over the past weekend.
Beyond this, based on the current state of investigations, there is strong suspicion that the 32-year-old may be responsible for further arsons in the region between 23 July and 23 August. In some cases, substantial material damage was caused; according to investigators, there were no injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
