All residents remained uninjured; the material damage amounts to several thousand euros.
Riem, 31 December, 23.10: A 63-year-old heard a loud noise, which turned out to be an explosion at his kitchen window. The window was completely shattered, shards scattered throughout the flat. The man remained uninjured. The damage is estimated at several hundred euros.
Schwanthalerhöhe, 1 January, 0.15: In another apartment building, a 37-year-old noticed a bang and smoke in the stairwell and a triggered smoke alarm. At the flat door of his absent neighbour, he discovered a hole. According to police findings to date, unknown perpetrators placed an explosive device at the door here as well. The damage inside and outside the affected flat amounts to several thousand euros. No one was injured in this case either.
Munich police are asking witnesses who made observations in the affected streets to contact Commissariat 13 on 089/2910-0. The relevant areas are Altöttinger Straße, Schlüsselbergstraße and Simbacher Straße in Berg am Laim; Elisabeth-Mann-Borgese-Straße, Heinrich-Böll-Straße and Maria-Montessori-Straße in Riem; and Tulbeckstraße, Ganghoferstraße and Ligsalzstraße in Schwanthalerhöhe.
